NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>The University of Kentucky has received one of the first commitments for the Class of 2028, as Junior National qualifier Chase Swearingen\u00a0<\/strong>of New Albany, Ohio, has sent his verbal to the Wildcats and will arrive in Lexington in the fall of 2024.<\/p>\n

Regarding his commitment, he said:<\/p>\n

“I am truly blessed to announce my commitment to the University of Kentucky! Thank you to all of my coaches and my teammates throughout the years, who have helped me reach this goal! Thank you to all of the coaches at The University of Kentucky, for believing in me and giving me this opportunity! Go Cats?!\u26aa\ufe0f?”<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Swearingen trains year-round with New Albany Aquatic Club and earned three best times at Cleveland Sectionals this past summer where he placed sixth in the 50m fly.<\/p>\n

He had a stellar showing at the NCSA Championships back in March, earning bronze in the 50 breast and finishing sixth in the 100 fly, seventh in the 50 fly and eighth in the 200 fly. Last December, he raced to 11th in the 100 fly, 22nd in the 50 free and 24th in the 200 fly at Juniors East.<\/p>\n
