Toussaint made the announcement on her Instagram account and posted a picture of her holding a Tennessee swim cap. She also announced that she will serve as a volunteer assistant coach for the Vols while she trains for the next Games.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;So happy to be back training on Rocky Top getting ready for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games!!,&#8221; Toussaint wrote. &#8220;While I\u2019m here I have the amazing opportunity to be one of the VOLunteer assistant coaches.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Toussaint has established herself as one of the world&#8217;s elite backstrokers in the 50 and 100 distances, and formerly held the world record in the short-course version of the 50 backstroke. The Dutch record-holder in the 50 backstroke and 100 backstroke, Toussaint won the bronze medal in the 100 back at this summer&#8217;s European Championships, where she also helped the Netherlands to the gold medal in the 400 medley relay.<\/p>\n<p>As a volunteer assistant coach at her alma mater, Toussaint will contribute to the program guided by <a href=\"https:\/\/utsports.com\/staff-directory\/matt-kredich\/335\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Matt Kredich<\/strong><\/a>. Toussaint&#8217;s move to Knoxville and presence as an assistant is similar to the move made by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/katie-ledecky-wins-espy-award-for-best-athlete-in-female-sports-caeleb-dressel-also-wins-espy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Katie Ledecky<\/strong><\/a> to the University of Florida, where she is training under <strong>Anthony Nesty<\/strong> and helping him as a volunteer assistant for the Gators.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/CikZRhrM3zz\/?hl=en<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kira Toussaint To Train at Tennessee On Way to Paris Olympics;
