PLEASANT PRAIRIE, Wisconsin, March 13. The first night of finals at the Speedo Sectionals meet in Pleasant Prairie kicked off with some incredible personal bests in the 1000 freestyle.<\/p>\n
Fifteen-year old Tevyn Waddell of Mitchell Aquatic chopped more than 14 seconds off her personal best to win the women’s 1000 free with a 10:07.56. Black Hawk’s Brittany Moffatt dropped 22 seconds to take second with a 10:13.62. Kaylyn Flatt of Colorado Athletic knocked more than 29 seconds off her own personal best with her third place finish of 10:17.91.<\/p>\n
Colorado Springs’ Brennan Mays dropped an amazing 37 seconds to win the men’s 1000, clocking in at 9:29.68. Cameron Kelley of Cedar Rapids Aquatic posted a 17-second drop with his second place finish of 9:36.17. Black Hawk’s Gabriel Langner’s third place time of 9:41.29 was more than ten seconds faster than his personal best.<\/p>\n
The night also featured plenty of time trials with the Colorado Stars boys having a strong night, setting some team records. \u00a0Austin Phillips, Nick Birney, Tj Konde and James Boone clocked a 1:35.72 in the 200-yard medley relay, while Triston Mosby, Phillips, Alex Kohlman and Boone clocked a 1:25.57 in the 200-yard free relay to set the new standards.<\/p>\n
After two events, Lifetime Arizona and Colorado Springs are tied for first on points with 54 each. Black Hawk sits third with 46 points.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
