A busy stretch of senior-level international competition wrapped up earlier this month with the World Championships, Commonwealth Games and European Championships all held in quick succession. Not all of the world\u2019s top performers were in the same place at the same time, but most of the world\u2019s top swimmers finished with some big performances to start off the new Olympic cycle. USA Swimming has released its criteria for selecting swimmers for the 2022 Short Course World Championships in Australia.<\/p>\n

The governing body of the sport in the U.S. released its\u00a0national team<\/a> earlier this week and the roster for Short Course Worlds, which takes place Dec. 8-12 in Melbourne, is expected to be released in October.<\/p>\n

Over the past few months, Poland\u2019s\u00a0Ksawery Masiuk<\/strong> made it clear that he is a rising star on the international backstroke scene. While the stroke is stacked with headliners, it wouldn\u2019t be shocking if Masiuk, a 17-year-old, contended for the podium in the 100-meter backstroke at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
