Gibson Holmes De-Commits From Duke, Pledges Verbal to Stanford<\/strong><\/p>\n

NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>After originally committing to Duke<\/a>, Gibson Holmes\u00a0<\/strong>of Cincinnati, Ohio, has changed his verbal pledge to Stanford<\/a> and will arrive at The Farm in the fall of 2023.<\/p>\n

He will join\u00a0Henry McFadden<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>as a member of the Cardinal’s Class of 2027.<\/p>\n

Regarding his decision, he said:<\/p>\n

Holmes does his club swimming with Mason Manta Rays and flew to 12th in the 200m fly at Junior Nationals most recently, also placing 21st in the 100m free. He achieved three best times at the Phillips 66 International Team Trials earlier this summer where he posted a trio of top-24 finishes.<\/p>\n

He earned bronze in the 200 fly last winter at Juniors East, also racing to sixth in the 100 fly and eighth in the 400 IM.<\/p>\n

Holmes also impressed at the Southern Premier Invitational in March, winning the 100 fly and coming in second in the 500 free, third in the 200 free, fourth in the 100 free and 10th in the 100 breast.<\/p>\n
