NEW COMMIT:<\/strong> It will be a Schaffer sister reunion in Los Angeles in 2023, as Alexis Schaffer of Mountain View, California, has verbally committed to UCLA. Her older sisters, Brooke Schaffer and Taylor Schaffer, are currently on the team.<\/span><\/p>\n

Their father, Greg Schaffer, also swam for UCLA. He was an eight-time All-American and earned silver in the 200 breast at the 1992 NCAA Championships.<\/span><\/p>\n

Regarding her commitment, she said:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m beyond excited to announce my verbal commitment to swim and study at UCLA!! A huge thank you to friends, family, and coaches for supporting me along the way. I can\u2019t wait to be a part of this amazing team! Go Bruins!!\u201d<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Schaffer, who does her club swimming with Palo Alto Stanford Aquatics and is a Futures qualifier, achieved five lifetime bests at College Station Sectionals back in March, placing 19th in the 50 free.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
