A busy stretch of senior-level international competition wrapped up earlier this month with the World Championships, Commonwealth Games and European Championships all held in quick succession. Not all of the world\u2019s top performers were in the same place at the same time, but most of the world\u2019s top swimmers finished with some big performances to start off the new Olympic cycle. We previously ranked\u00a0the top 10 men\u2019s swims<\/a>, and now here are the best women\u2019s efforts, with the only individual world record of the year topping the list \u2013 with a bit of leniency allowed for its May delivery.<\/p>\n

When\u00a0Thomas Heilman<\/strong>\u00a0established a National Age Group (NAG)\u00a0record in the 100-meter freestyle<\/a>\u00a0at the Junior Pan Pacific Championships, he erased a standard from a major name. Heilman\u2019s effort of 49.06 in a preliminary swim bettered the 49.28 mark of\u00a0Caeleb Dressel<\/strong>\u00a0in the 15-16 classification from the 2013 season. Given Dressel\u2019s status as a multi-time Olympic champion, Heilman pulled off no small feat while racing in Hawaii. He followed with a\u00a0spectacular NAG in the 100 butterfly<\/a>, as he went sub-52.<\/p>\n

Molly is a member of the NSU Sharks Swim Team, a Division II program located in the Sunshine State Conference. She is currently a dual admission sophomore and plans to graduate with a marketing major and communications minor in 2021, then an MBA in 2022.
