58.9\/2:09 Breaststroker Lucy Thomas Verbally Commits to Stanford for 2023<\/strong><\/p>\n

NEW COMMIT:<\/strong> Brookfield, Wisconsin native and National qualifier Lucy Thomas \u2013 the top breaststroker in her class \u2013 has verbally committed to Stanford University for the 2023-24 season.<\/span><\/p>\n

She will join <\/span>Caroline Bricker<\/span><\/a> on the Farm as a member of the Cardinal\u2019s Class of 2027.<\/span><\/p>\n

Regarding her commitment, she said:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI couldn\u2019t be more excited to finally announce my verbal commitment to continue my athletic and academic journey at Stanford University!! I couldn\u2019t have done this without the help of my family, friends, coaches, teachers, and teammates who have made this possible!! GO TREES?\u2764\ufe0f\u201d<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Thomas, who trains year-round with Elmbrook Swim Club, had six top-5 finishes at Minneapolis Sectionals this summer, including a win in the 100m breast. She finished sixth in the 50m breast at Phillips 66 International Team Trials in the spring, too.<\/span><\/p>\n

Thomas was also the gold medalist at the NCSA Championships in the 50 free, 50 breast, 100 breast and was the runner-up in the 200 breast.<\/span><\/p>\n
