He oversaw 40 NCAA qualifiers, 39 school record setters and 24 All-Americans.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019d like to thank Athletic Director <strong>Blake James,<\/strong> Associate AD <strong>Carly Pariseau,<\/strong> and the whole Boston College Swimming &amp; Diving family for the opportunity to lead this program,\u201d Brinkman said <a href=\"https:\/\/bceagles.com\/news\/2022\/8\/15\/joe-brinkman-named-head-swimming-diving-coach.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">in a university statement<\/a>. \u201cI\u2019m very excited to be a part of this team\u2019s journey and build upon its foundation of success! Go Eags!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Brinkman swam at the University of the Cumberlands, a four-year letter winner and two-year captain. He received his bachelor\u2019s degree in business administration in 2015 and was a two-time nominee for the NAIA Champion of Character Award.<\/p>\n<p>Before being <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/joe-brinkman-hired-as-notre-dame-assistant-swim-coach\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">hired by Notre Dame in 2018<\/a>, he spent two seasons on staff for the Stanford men\u2019s team, helping the Cardinals to consecutive top-10 NCAA finishes and a Pac-12 title. He also was an assistant coach for the national group at Palo Alto Stanford Aquatics (now Alto Swim Club).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re thrilled to welcome Joe Brinkman to the Boston College Athletics family,\u201d BC Director of Athletics <strong>Blake James<\/strong> said. \u201cJoe is a hard-working, dedicated leader who understands the importance of helping student-athletes develop in and out of the pool.
