I knew I had to give it all, I didn\u2019t see but I felt Ceccon was charging from behind so I tried to push extremely hard.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;As I saw in the replay on the wall, Ceccon did better over the last three metres so I\u2019m not disappointed to lose the gold by 0.03seconds, because this is my second-fastest time ever after the Worlds in Budapest.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;That was a very long season and I think I did a great job.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>It has been a superb meet for Ndoye Brouard.<\/p>\n<p>The 21-year-old <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/european-championships-yohann-ndoye-brouard-wins-200-back-off-huge-final-turn-sets-french-record-of-155-62\/\">won the 200 in a French record<\/a> despite having to reach the final via a solo time-trial after his starting ledge broke.<\/p>\n<p>And he followed up his individual 100 bronze <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/european-championships-italy-set-championship-record-en-route-to-mens-medley-relay-gold-ahead-of-france-austria\/\">by leading off the French quartet<\/a> that were second in the men&#8217;s medley relay in the concluding race of the championships.<\/p>\n<p>He said:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;It was alright, I\u2019ve improved but the other guys were just very strong.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I can feel I lacked the energy I needed at the end to bring it really home.
