{"id":511435,"date":"2022-08-15T09:43:36","date_gmt":"2022-08-15T16:43:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=511435"},"modified":"2022-08-15T14:43:18","modified_gmt":"2022-08-15T21:43:18","slug":"european-championships-switzerlands-lisa-mamie-claims-gold-in-womens-200-breaststroke","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/european-championships-switzerlands-lisa-mamie-claims-gold-in-womens-200-breaststroke\/","title":{"rendered":"European Championships: Switzerland&#8217;s Lisa Mamie Claims Gold in Women&#8217;s 200 Breaststroke"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em><strong>European Championships: Switzerland&#8217;s Lisa Mamie Claims Gold in Women&#8217;s 200 Breaststroke<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>In a race decided by less than four tenths of a second, Switzerland\u2019s<strong> Lisa Mamie <\/strong>touched the wall in 2:23.27 to earn the gold medal in the 200 breaststroke at the European Championships.\u00a0Mamie held off Italy\u2019s <strong>Martina Carraro<\/strong>, who finished in 2:23.64, while Lithuania\u2019s <strong>Kotryna Teterevkova<\/strong> earned the bronze medal with a swim of 2:24.16.<\/p>\n<p>Mamie was just behind Teterevkova after the 50, while she dropped to third after the 100 with Teterekova maintaining the lead. Teterekova continued to lead at the 150 mark before Mamie made her move. She split 36.92 in the final 50 to pass Teterevkova and surge to the gold medal.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m very happy right now,&#8221; Mamie said. &#8220;I wanted to have fun here.
