Kristof Milak Ensures Busy Night<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>David Popovici <\/strong>returned to the Foro Italico the morning after <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/flash-david-popovici-sets-100-free-world-record-of-46-86\/\/\">his 100 free world record<\/a> to qualify with ease for the 200 semis at the <strong>European Championships.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It was <strong>Kristof Milak<\/strong> who led the way ahead of the 17-year-old before the pair both appeared for <strong>Hungary<\/strong> and <strong>Romania<\/strong> respectively in the men&#8217;s 4x100m freestyle heats with Popovici going 47.85 on lead-off.<\/p>\n<p>Hungary booked lane four but Romania missed out in 11th.<\/p>\n<p>That means a busy evening for Milak who goes in the 100 fly final, 200 semis and 4&#215;100 free deciders in the space of roughly 75 minutes.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/european-championships-entry-lists-sarah-sjostrom-focused-on-sprints-kristof-milak-eyeing-sub-150-in-200-butterfly\/\">Rome entry lists<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/roma2022.microplustimingservices.com\/indexRoma2022_web.php?s=TG9hZENhbGVuZGFyaW8oJzAnKTs=&amp;cat=ASM&amp;page=001&amp;spec=001&amp;bat=001&amp;td=STL1&amp;hg=&amp;descIT=TWVuwqAtwqA1MCBtIFN0aWxlIExpYmVybyAtIFByZWxpbWluYXJ5&amp;descEN=TWVuwqAtwqA1MG0gRnJlZXN0eWxlIC0gUHJlbGltaW5hcnk=&amp;descFR=TWVuwqAtwqA1MCBtIE5hZ2UgTGlicmUgLSBQcmVsaW1pbmFyeQ==&amp;curCatSel_M_F=9:00&amp;sport=Swimming\">Rome results<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/meet\/2022-european-championships-rome\">Complete coverage<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 200m freestyle<\/h3>\n<p>Milak went in the fourth heat of six and appeared to want matters over and done with as soon as possible ahead of his 100 fly final tonight.<\/p>\n<p>The Hungarian split 23.95\/51.01\/1:18.90\/1:46.26 to lead the way into the semis which take place little more than 10 minutes after his fly final.<\/p>\n<p>Popovici, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/world-championships-david-popovici-sets-wjr-of-143-21-to-win-200-freestyle\/\">who won the 100-200 double<\/a> at the World Championships in June, eased through the first 150 in the final prelim and was third at the 150 mark before turning on the turbos at 175 to progress in 1:46.87.<\/p>\n<p>There was no British representation however with all four &#8211;
