The original hype surrounding Canadian\u00a0Joshua Liendo<\/strong>\u00a0was centered on his skill in the freestyle events. But Liendo, too, has proven himself as an elite performer in the 100-meter butterfly, and that event just might be the discipline in which the 19-year-old makes the most noise.<\/p>\n

James Guy<\/strong>\u00a0urged\u00a0Adam Peaty<\/strong>\u00a0not to let his results as a swimmer define him after the double Olympic champion finished outside the medals in the 100m breaststroke at the\u00a0Commonwealth Games<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Peaty declared himself \u2018heartbroken\u2019 after finishing fourth at the\u00a0Sandwell Aquatics Centre<\/strong>\u00a0on Sunday night\u00a0as his English teammate\u00a0James Wilby<\/strong>\u00a0claimed the title<\/a>.<\/p>\n

During the first evening of finals at U.S. Junior Nationals in Irvine, Calif., a pair of siblings representing the Carmel Swim Club began the meet with resounding wins in their respective 200 butterfly races. 15-year-old\u00a0Alex Shackell<\/strong>\u00a0broke 2:10 for the first time as she won the women\u2019s event before older brother\u00a0Aaron Shackell<\/strong>\u00a0out-dueled\u00a0Thomas Heilman<\/strong>\u00a0to capture first in the men\u2019s race.<\/p>\n
