Not far from her home in Northamptonshire, she celebrated her 20th birthday last week by adding another piece of hardware Monday.<\/p>\n<p>Summers-Newton followed up her three golds at worlds with her first Commonwealth Games gold in Birmingham, England, winning the women\u2019s SB6 100 breaststroke.<\/p>\n<p>All the paraswimming action from Sunday&#8217;s and Monday\u2019s competition:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/results.birmingham2022.com\/#\/athletic-sports-schedule\/SWM\/*\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Meet Results<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/meet\/2022-commenwealth-games-birmingham\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Meet Information Page<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/commonwealth-games-nicolas-guy-turbide-wins-s13-50-free-in-01-thriller\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Commonwealth Games: Nicolas-Guy Turbide Wins S13 50 Free in .01 Thriller<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Men\u2019s S7 50 freestyle<\/h4>\n<p><strong>Matthew Levy<\/strong> claimed another gold medal for Australia on Monday, winning a thrilling event in 28.95. He was just .15 up on <strong>Wei Soong Toh<\/strong> of Singapore, who grabbed silver in 28.95.<\/p>\n<p>Levy\u2019s time was .35 second shy of the Commonwealth Games record he set in Gold Coast in 2018 in repeating as champ in the event. The SB6 100 breast is one of her specialties, one of the three events she won gold <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/2022-para-world-championships-tully-kearney-takes-down-22-year-old-world-record\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">in at the Madeira Worlds this summer<\/a> after earning silver in the 2019 edition. She\u2019s also the reigning Olympic gold medalist in the event (and the SM6 200 individual medley).<\/p>\n<p>Monday, Summers-Newton swam like that kind of world-beater. She bested the field with a time of 1:13.64, more than five seconds back of the world record she set in 2019 but four seconds up on the chasing pack Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>The 23-year-old won the S9 100 back and earned silver in the S9 100 free at the 2018 Commonwealth Games. But New Zealand\u2019s <strong>Joshua Wilmer<\/strong> forced him to settle for silver.<\/p>\n<p>Wilmer clocked in at 1:14.12, with Hodge fractionally behind in 1:14.19. Hodge won the S9 100 backstroke earlier in the week.<\/p>\n<p>Third place went to Australia\u2019s <strong>Blake Cochrane,<\/strong> an SB7 swimmer.
