The men\u2019s S13 50 free was the most entertaining race of the first two days of competition, though Saturday produced a world record courtesy of <strong>Katja Dedekind.<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/results.birmingham2022.com\/#\/athletic-sports-schedule\/SWM\/*\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Meet Results<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/meet\/2022-commenwealth-games-birmingham\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Meet Information Page<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Men\u2019s S9 100 backstroke<\/h4>\n<p><strong>Timothy Hodge<\/strong> led the way in the first para event of the meet, dominating the field by nearly two seconds. Saturday, Turbide went 24.32 to get the win, just .01 up on Clegg.<\/p>\n<p>A crowd of Aussies weren\u2019t far behind. The 20-year-old native of South Africa, swimming for Australia, followed up her three medals at the 2022 Para World Championships dominated the field in 26.56, more than a second up on the field. She also downed the S13 world record of 26.67, set by Italy&#8217;s <strong>Carlotta Gilli<\/strong> in 2018.<\/p>\n<p>Second was England\u2019s <strong>Hannah Russell<\/strong> in 27.67.
