The 2022 Phillips 66 U.S. National Championships are ready to kick off from Irvine, California, with the Day 1 prelims session, and the heat sheets have been released.<\/p>\n

Day 1 will feature the women’s 200 butterfly, the men’s 200 butterfly, the women’s 100 freestyle and the men’s 100 freestyle.<\/p>\n

Following those events, timed distance heats in the women’s 800 and men’s 1500 freestyle will follow. The top heats for both of those events will occur during the Day 1 finals session.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Day 1 Prelims Heat Sheets<\/a><\/p>\n

With many of the top butterflyers like Hali Flickinger<\/strong> and Regan Smith<\/strong> not competing in this meet, the top seed on the heat sheets is Georgia All-American Dakota Luther<\/strong>, who will swim in lane four next to Texas All-American Kelly Pash<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The men’s 200 butterfly will feature Cal All-American Trenton Julian<\/strong> and teammate Gabriel Jett<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The women’s 100 freestyle will feature Mallory Comerford, Gretchen Walsh, Gabi Albiero, Catie DeLoof, Beata Nelson<\/strong>, Pash and top seed Natalie Hinds<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

For the men’s 100 freestyle, Shaine Casas, Kieran Smith, Zach Apple, Danny Krueger, Justin Resss, Destin Lasco<\/strong> will all compete as well as international swimmer Andrei Minakov<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The top swimmers in the women’s 800 \u2014 Katie Ledecky, Erica Sullivan, Kaersten Meitz<\/strong> and Sierra Schmidt<\/strong> \u2014 will all be in the final heat in the finals. The top early-session qualifier is Kayla Han<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

For the men, David Johnson<\/strong> and Will Gallan<\/strong>t lead the final heat with Daniel Matheson<\/strong> leading the early heats on the heat sheets.<\/p>\n
