NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>The University of South Carolina has received a new verbal commitment for the 2023-24 season and beyond from\u00a0Madelyn Yates <\/strong>of Huntsville, Alabama.<\/p>\n

She will join\u00a0Jill Smiley<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>as a member of the Gamecocks’ Class of 2027.<\/p>\n

Regarding her commitment, she said:<\/p>\n

\u201cI am beyond excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at the University of South Carolina! I can\u2019t wait to be a part of such an amazing program and school. I\u2019m so grateful for all my coaches, friends, and family for all their continued support throughout this journey and I\u2019m so excited for the next few years!! Yates trains year-round with Baylor Swim Club and most recently earned two best times at the Mizuno Atlanta Classic in May. She was the runner-up in the 50 back at the Southeastern Swimming Championships in February before going on to place 20th in the 50 fly at NCSAs in March.<\/p>\n
