The sting for\u00a0Drew Kibler<\/strong>\u00a0hasn\u2019t abated in 11 months. Finishing off the podium in the 800 freestyle relay at the Tokyo Olympics \u2013 that\u2019s just something a proud American program doesn\u2019t do. To be part of that foursome was, for Kibler, a regrettable entry on his career ledger.<\/p>\n

Thursday, Kibler,\u00a0Kieran Smith<\/strong>\u00a0and a pair of new faces took the first concrete step toward rectifying that.<\/p>\n

A tight battle in the women\u2019s 100 breaststroke final at the World Championships saw\u00a0Italy\u2019s\u00a0Benedetta Pilato<\/strong>\u00a0emerge victorious by just five hundredths over Germany\u2019s\u00a0Anna Elendt<\/strong><\/a>, with Lithuania\u2019s\u00a0Ruta Meilutyte<\/strong>\u00a0claiming bronze. Swimming in lane eight, two-time defending world champion and world-record holder\u00a0Lilly King<\/strong>\u00a0finished fourth in 1:06.07, just five hundredths off the podium but seven tenths shy of her season-best performance.<\/p>\n

Molly graduated from Freehold Township High School in 2017 with an International Baccalaureate Diploma and moved to Florida to attend Nova Southeastern University. Molly is a member of the NSU Sharks Swim Team, a Division II program located in the Sunshine State Conference. She is currently a dual admission sophomore and plans to graduate with a marketing major and communications minor in 2021, then an MBA in 2022.
