Kylie Masse<\/strong> returned from claiming silver over 100m backstroke<\/a> to set the pace in to the semis in the 50m at Duna Arena.<\/p>\n

The Canadian went in the final heat and was some way clear at the head of the field in 27.26 with the USA’s Katherine Berkoff<\/strong> next through in 27.49 and Ingrid Wilm<\/strong> in 27.55.<\/p>\n

Regan Smith<\/strong> – winner of the 100 back – was fourth in 27.70 although there was a nervous moment for European record holder Kira Toussaint<\/strong> who was left on the start of the final heat and went through 13th in 28.17.<\/p>\n

There’ll be an entirely new podium at the Duna Arena from the one in Gwangju which was made up of Olivia Smoliga, Etiene Medeiros<\/strong> and Daria Vaskina,<\/strong> all three absent from the meet.<\/p>\n
