Adam Peaty<\/strong> sent a message of congratulations to Nicolo Martinenghi<\/strong> after the Italian claimed the 100 breaststroke title at the World Championships.<\/p>\n

Peaty was ruled out of the global meet last month<\/a> after breaking his right foot in training which deprived him of the opportunity to make history as the first man to win four successive doubles following his three straight titles in the 50 and 100br.<\/p>\n

Martinenghi, winner of the bronze medal in Tokyo, took the title on Sunday evening<\/a>, lowering his own Italian record to 58.26 in the process.<\/p>\n

He posted to social media, prompting Peaty to say: “Bravo mate ?? Enjoy the amazing moment!”<\/p>\n

Martinenghi responded, saying: “grazie KING ?”<\/p>\n
