Colombia\u2019s <strong>Nelson Crispin Corzo<\/strong> and Frenchman <strong>Laurent Chardard<\/strong> tied for silver.<\/p>\n<p>Fantin was one of two world records on the day, with <strong>Timothy Hodge<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/para-worlds-australias-timothy-hodge-breaks-hero-matt-cowdreys-long-standing-200im-world-record\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">setting the mark in the men\u2019s SM9 200 individual medley<\/a>. Monday\u2019s session ended with Brazil winning gold in the mixed 200 free relay 20 points in an Americas record of 2:20.40. <strong>Lidia Vieira da Cruz, Daniel Xavier Mendes, Joana Neves<\/strong> and <strong>Samuel Da Silva de Oliveira<\/strong> comprised the relay. They improved the record in the morning, then slashed another three seconds off it.<\/p>\n<p>Da Silva de Oliveira won the men\u2019s S5 50 back, and <strong>Gabriel Bandeira<\/strong> won silver in the S14 men\u2019s 200 back.<\/p>\n<p>Mexico was second in the relay. <strong>Jesus Hernandez<\/strong> won the men\u2019s SM3 150 individual medley, and Colombia\u2019s <strong>Sara Vargas Blanco<\/strong> set an America\u2019s record in the women\u2019s S6 100 free at 1:12.75. She edged Ukraine\u2019s <strong>Anna Hontar<\/strong> by .05 seconds, Hontar winning her second silver medal of the meet.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Leanne Smith<\/strong> won her second gold of the meet and one of four for the Americans on Night 2 of the 2022 World Para Swimming Championships. She clocked in at 2:56.94 to take the top spot in the SM3 women\u2019s 150 IM. She denied <strong>Tonja Scholz<\/strong> a second gold on the night, after the German set a meet record of 1:20.70 in the S4 women\u2019s 100 free.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Colleen Young<\/strong> set an American record in the women\u2019s SB13 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:14.79. It was also the race of the night, Young edging Germany\u2019s <strong>Elena Krawzow<\/strong> by a scant .02 seconds.<\/p>\n<p><strong>McKenzie Coan<\/strong> claimed the S7 women\u2019s 400 free in 5:10.36. <strong>Ahalya Lettenberger<\/strong> was third for the U.S. <strong>Robert Griswold<\/strong> picked up the first American men\u2019s gold by going 1:03.82 to win the S8 100 back.<\/p>\n<p>Italy continued to collect medals. <strong>Stefano Raimondo<\/strong> won a second gold, edging Australia&#8217;s <strong>Col Pearse<\/strong> in the men\u2019s SM10 200 IM. <strong>Xenia Francesca Palazzo<\/strong> claimed victory in the S8 women\u2019s 100 back. <strong>Giulia Terzi<\/strong> was second in the women\u2019s S7 400 free.<\/p>\n<p>An Asian record for Kazakhstan\u2019s <strong>Nurdaulet Zhumagali<\/strong> wasn\u2019t quite enough for gold thanks to <strong>Taliso Engel,<\/strong> the German edging him by two tenths in SB13 100 breast. Zhumagali\u2019s record stands at 1:04.09.<\/p>\n<p>Turkey\u2019s <strong>Sumeyye Boyachi<\/strong> won the S5 50 back in a 1-2 with countrywoman <strong>Sevilay Ozturk.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Lisa Kruger<\/strong> made it two golds in two nights, winning the women\u2019s SM10 200 IM. <strong>Stephen Clegg<\/strong> (S12 men\u2019s 100 fly) and <strong>Bethany Ferth<\/strong> (S14 women\u2019s 100 back) did the same for Great Britain. Again, Ferth led a 1-2-3 for Britain, followed to the wall by <strong>Poppy Maskill<\/strong> and <strong>Jessica Appelgate. \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Keiichi Kimura<\/strong> of Japan won the men\u2019s S11 100 fly in an excellent race with the Netherlands\u2019 <strong>Rogier Dorman,<\/strong> who picked up silver 0.32 seconds back. <strong>Zsofia Konkoly<\/strong> outpaced Spain\u2019s
