This is the Swim Poll of the Week for Thursday, June 9, 2022, sponsored by Strechcordz Swim Training Products<\/a>. In our last poll, we wanted to know: How fast will it take to win the women’s 50 freestyle at World Championships?<\/strong><\/p>\n

The top-3 50 freestyle times for 2022 are all held by Swedish swimmer Sarah Sjoestroem. <\/strong>Sjoestroem’s top time is 24.06<\/a>, set last month at the 39th Mare Nostrum<\/a> in Monte Carlo. The Swede’s next closest competitor is Australia’s Shayna Jack. Jack stopped the clock in 24.14 at the Australian Championships last month.<\/p>\n

Based on these times, a sub-24 time is not out of the question. Though it looks like it will be a battle between Sweden and Australia for gold and silver. These two swimmers make up the entirety of the top-10 times for 2022.<\/p>\n

It is also worth mentioning, that Emma McKeon,\u00a0<\/strong>who set an Olympic record in this event last summer and won gold, did post a sub-24 time. She touched the wall in 23.81. Cate Campbell<\/strong> and China’s Xiang Lu<\/strong> also went sub-24 in the latter half of 2021.<\/p>\n

Regardless of when the clock stops it will be a fast and exciting race to watch.<\/p>\n
