On the strength of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fina.org\/competitions\/2916\/fina-marathon-swim-world-series-2022\/results?event=95c8282c-46ab-4797-9bc6-f32e3100091e\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">her 15th-place finish<\/a> on Saturday in the 10K race at the FINA Marathon Series in Portugal, McMahon nailed down a berth in the 25K open-water event at Worlds.<\/p>\n<p>McMahon is a former Swimming World intern who wrote a number of excellent pieces while balancing her internship role with her training at Alabama. McMahon wrote one article about the hidden talents of Team USA members and another feature about the rise of former United States National Teamer Margo Geer as a rising star on the coaching scene.<\/p>\n<p>McMahon\u2019s qualification for the World Championships marks the second consecutive summer in which she enjoyed a breakthrough performance in the sport.
