He won three gold medals and two silver medals during his Olympic career.\u00a0<strong>Melissa Belote Ripley<\/strong> was a U.S. Olympian in 1972 and 1976, winning three gold medals during her career.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Rick Colella<\/strong> won a bronze medal and made Olympic teams in 1972 and 1976 while <strong>Dave Wharton<\/strong> was a two-time Olympian in 1988 and 1992, winning a silver medal. <strong>Ashley Whitney<\/strong> won a gold in 1996.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Day 3 of the 2022 U.S. Masters Spring National Championships saw a stunning 23 record-setting swims from San Antonio.
