The USA Swimming International Team Trials kicked off with the first morning of prelims on Tuesday from the Greensboro Aquatic Center.<\/p>\n

The men\u2019s 100 freestyle featured Olympic champion Caeleb Dressel<\/strong> and he didn\u2019t disappoint.<\/p>\n

Dressel touched out NCAA champion Brooks Curry<\/strong> to win the final heat and take the top seed heading into tonight\u2019s final in 48.12, not his best time but solid for a prelims performance at the USA Swimming International Team Trials.<\/p>\n

Olympian Ryan Held<\/strong> took he second seed ahead of another Olympian, Drew Kibler (<\/strong>48..24).<\/p>\n

Curry, who made the Tokyo Olympics as a relay swimmer, took the fourth seed in 48.36.<\/p>\n

Florida\u2019s Kieran Smith,<\/strong> another Olympic medalist, took the fifth seed (48.50) ahead of Hunter Armstrong<\/strong> (48.55), Olympic medalist Zach Apple<\/strong> (48.57) and Justin Ress<\/strong> (48.73) to round out the finalists for the USA Swimming International Team Trials final.<\/p>\n

With such a stacked field in the final, it should be extremely interesting. Dressel will be the favorite, but who will take the second spot? Plus with relay spots open, everyone will be aiming to make the World Championship team.<\/p>\n
