{"id":503243,"date":"2022-04-26T06:55:05","date_gmt":"2022-04-26T13:55:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=503243"},"modified":"2022-04-26T06:55:05","modified_gmt":"2022-04-26T13:55:05","slug":"usa-swimming-international-team-trials-day-1-prelims-natalie-hinds-leads-stacked-field-in-100-free","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/usa-swimming-international-team-trials-day-1-prelims-natalie-hinds-leads-stacked-field-in-100-free\/","title":{"rendered":"USA Swimming International Team Trials Day 1 Prelims: Natalie Hinds Leads Stacked Field in 100 Free"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The USA Swimming International Team Trials kicked off with the first morning of prelims on Tuesday from the Greensboro Aquatic Center.<\/p>\n<p>The women\u2019s 100 freestyle featured many of the top names in USA Swimming all competing for a spot in the finals, and at least a relay spot for the World Championships.<\/p>\n<p>Seven of the eight finalists have been on the Olympic team with the eighth an NCAA Champion and member of Team USA. It doesn\u2019t get more stacked than that.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Natalie Hinds<\/strong>, who made the Olympic team in this event as a relay member, took the top seed in 53.77. She was the lone swimmer in the field to break 54 seconds.<\/p>\n<p>Olympic teammate <strong>Torri Huske<\/strong> took the second seed in 54.16, tied with fellow Olympian <strong>Claire Curzan,<\/strong> who also touched in 54.16. Both made the Olympic team in the 100 butterfly.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mallory Comerford<\/strong> made her return to the elite at the USA Swimming International Team Trials.
