The USA Swimming International Team Trials kicked off with the first morning of prelims on Tuesday from the Greensboro Aquatic Center.<\/p>\n

The women\u2019s 200 butterfly was the first event of the day. It started off the session strong as Olympic medalist Hali Flickinger<\/strong> turned in a dominant performance in the event, taking the top seed with a swim of 2:07.75.<\/p>\n

Flickinger, swimming for Sun Devil Aquatics, was nearly two seconds ahead of the rest of the field and will have a middle lane for tonight’s final.<\/p>\n

Charlotte Hook<\/strong> took the second seed at the USA Swimming International Team Trials in 2:09.51 to hold off Texas\u2019 Emma Sticklen<\/strong> (2:09.71) by two tenths of a second.<\/p>\n

Olympian Regan Smith<\/strong> took the fourth seed in 2:09.83, just one hundredth ahead of Michigan\u2019s Olivia Carter<\/strong> (2:09.84), the 2021 NCAA champion. Smith and Carter tied for second in this event at the NCAA Championships and were only a hundredth apart this time.<\/p>\n

Rachel Klinker<\/strong> took the sixth spot, toughing the wall in 2:10.66, followed by Lindsay Looney<\/strong> (2:10.80) and Amanda Ray<\/strong> (2:10.85).<\/p>\n
