The American Swimming Coaches Association (ASCA) has announced a scholarship in the name of Doc and Marge Counsilman. The scholarship honors Doc Counsilman, perhaps the seminal figure in coaching in the 20th century, and his wife and lifelong partner, Marge. <\/p>\n
At least one $2,000 study grant will be awarded each year to allow coaches to pursue the scientific study of swimming. Coaches may apply for the grant by submitting a study plan to the selection committee. <\/p>\n
