Jake Foster, Kate Steward Named Big 12 Scholar Athletes of the Year<\/strong><\/p>\n

Texas junior Jake Foster<\/strong> and Kansas senior Kate Steward<\/strong> were named the Big 12 Scholars Athletes of the Year in men\u2019s and women\u2019s swimming.<\/p>\n

The Big 12 made its announcement on Tuesday<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Foster is a biology major with a 4.00 grade-point average and 100 percent participation. The native of Cincinnati was a six-time All-American in the pool, part of Texas\u2019s Big 12 championship squad and NCAA runner-up. At NCAAs<\/a>, Foster finished fifth in the men\u2019s 400 individual medley and eighth in the men\u2019s 200 IM. He was also 12th in the 200 breaststroke.<\/p>\n
