Walshe was also named Freshman of the Year, opposite Georgia\u2019s <strong>Matt Sates.<\/strong> <strong>Anthony Nesty<\/strong> was named the men\u2019s swim coach of the year, with Tennessee\u2019s <strong>Matt Kredich<\/strong> was the women\u2019s winner.<\/p>\n<p>Texas A&amp;M\u2019s NCAA champion <strong>Kurtis Mathews<\/strong> won Men\u2019s Diver of the Year, his coach <strong>Jay Larew<\/strong> claiming the diving coach award. The Women\u2019s Diver of the Year award was split between <strong>Maha Amer<\/strong> of Florida, Kentucky\u2019s <strong>Kyndal Knight<\/strong> and South Carolina\u2019s <strong>Brooke Schultz.<\/strong> <strong>Doug Shaffer<\/strong> of LSU was the Women\u2019s Coach of the Year for tutoring Freshman of the Year <strong>Chiara Pellacani. The junior won gold in the 100 free and silver in the 100 free at SECs.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/results\/2022-sec-championships-full-results\/ncaa-college\/2022\/February\/15?rtn=%2Fresults%2Fall\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2022 SEC Championships Results<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/meet\/sec-swimming\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SEC Swimming News<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Sates made an instant impact upon his midseason arrival. The South African won the NCAA title in the 500 freestyle and was third in the 200 free. He won both events at SECs. He helped the Bulldogs finish second in the 800 free relay in an SEC record time.<\/p>\n<p>Nesty led Florida to its 10th consecutive SEC championship. He\u2019s earned the honor all three years at the helm. The Gators finished third at NCAAs.<\/p>\n<p>Mathews, a native of Australia, won both springboard events at SECs. He became Texas A&amp;M\u2019s first NCAA diving champion when he won the 1-meter final, then added 3-meter gold. He was one of four men\u2019s divers that Larew helped qualify for NCAAs.<\/p>\n<p>Farouk was fifth on both 1-meter and platform at his first SECs.<\/p>\n<p>Scott turned in an outstanding SECs for Alabama, the senior sweeping the sprint events and winning gold in four relays, including the SEC record-setting 200 medley and 400 medley squads. Scott finished second in the 100 free and fourth in the 50 free at NCAAs to go with three top-four relay finishes.<\/p>\n<p>Walshe, a native of Ireland, won the 100 fly, 200 IM and 400 IM at SECs. She placed eighth in the 100 fly and 400 IM at NCAAs.<\/p>\n<p>Kredich helped the Lady Vols win seven events at SECs en route to the second conference title. He helped 11 Lady Vols collect a total of 28 All-America honors at NCAAs.<\/p>\n<p>Amer recorded three top-10 finishes at SECs, the highest a fourth on 3-meter springboard. Schultz won the 1-meter and 3-meter at SECs; she was ninth on 1-meter at NCAAs. Knight was third on 1-meter and platform at SECs.<\/p>\n<p>Pellacani, a native of Italy, was second in both springboard events at SECs.<\/p>\n<h4>All-SEC First
