{"id":502587,"date":"2022-04-11T10:24:30","date_gmt":"2022-04-11T17:24:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=502587"},"modified":"2022-04-11T10:29:28","modified_gmt":"2022-04-11T17:29:28","slug":"sarah-sjostrom-blasts-4-31-for-50-free-title-in-stockholm-meet-marks-for-glinta-gose","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/sarah-sjostrom-blasts-4-31-for-50-free-title-in-stockholm-meet-marks-for-glinta-gose\/","title":{"rendered":"Sarah Sjostrom Blasts 24.31 For 50 Free Title In Stockholm; Meet Marks For Glinta &#038; Gose"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Sarah Sjostrom<\/strong> continued her scorching form at the Stockholm Open with a 24.31 blast in the 50 freestyle.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.livetiming.se\/results.php?cid=6228&amp;session=9\">Results<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Sjostrom &#8211; who won Olympic silver in the dash after a year disrupted by injury, surgery and rehab &#8211; had clear daylight between herself and <strong>Julie Kepp Jensen<\/strong> who clocked 25.06 for second with <strong>Theodora Drakou<\/strong> in third (25.37).<\/p>\n<p>The Swede adds the 50 free title to the 50 and 100 fly she has already secured at the meet.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Robert-Andrei Glinta<\/strong> and <strong>Isabel Gose<\/strong> both set meet records in the 100 back and 400 free respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Glinta &#8211; who set a Romanian record of 52.88 en-route to the European title last year &#8211; won in 53.58 ahead of <strong>Apostolos Christou<\/strong>, joint European bronze medallist, who clocked 53.59.<\/p>\n<p>Gose got the session off to a flying start with a new meet mark of 4:05.55 more than eight seconds ahead of <strong>Sarah Wellbrock<\/strong> &#8211; nee Kohler &#8211; who came home in 4:13.78.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Anastasia Gorbenko\u00a0<\/strong>made two trips to the top of the podium after taking the women&#8217;s 200 back title in 2:10.84 before returning later in the session to win the 200IM in 2:10.43, 0.44 outside the time in which she won European gold last year.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Katinka Hosszu<\/strong>, the 2016 Olympic champion, was next home in 2:13.14.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sophie Hansson<\/strong> took the 200 breaststroke in 2:24.00.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Andreas Vazaios<\/strong> won the men&#8217;s 100 free in 48.98, <strong>Kregor Zirk<\/strong> edged <strong>Louis Croenen<\/strong> by 0.07 in the 200 fly in 1:57.51 to 1:57.58 and <strong>Richard Nagy<\/strong> took the men&#8217;s 400IM in 4:20.69.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sarah Sjostrom continued her scorching form at the Stockholm Open with a 24.31 blast in the 50 freestyle.
