She clocked in at 8:30.84, more than four seconds clear of the field. It completes Jungblut\u2019s sweep of the 400-800-1,500 events at the meet.<\/p>\n<p>She and runner-up <strong>Gabrielle Goncalves<\/strong> were both under the FINA A standard in the event. He clocked in at 51.60, under the auto time of 51.96.<\/p>\n<p>Second was <strong>Vini Lanza<\/strong>, who went 51.82. That edged out the top seed from morning prelims, <strong>Kayky Mota.<\/strong> The Tennessee swimmer was still faster than prelims but landed third in 51.94. <strong>Caio Pumputis<\/strong> finished fourth in 52.64.<\/p>\n<p>The win in the other men\u2019s event of the night went to <strong>Leonardo de Deus<\/strong> in his specialty, the 200 backstroke. The Brazilian record-holder went from third in prelims to first in final, the only swimmer to break two minutes in 1:59.50. It\u2019s well shy of his 2016 national record (1:57.00) and also shy of the automatic cut for worlds (1:58.07). <strong>Brandonn Almeida<\/strong> finished second in 2:01.95.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Giovanna Diamante<\/strong> completed the butterfly double by going 58.87 in the 100 fly. That complements a runner-up finish in the 100 free. Her time is just shy of the auto standard of 58.33.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Daynara de<\/strong> <strong>Paula<\/strong> finished second in 59.24. <strong>Stephanie Balduccini,<\/strong> who won the 100 free and 200 free, nearly surged to the win but landed third in 59.27. She produced the fastest closing 50 of the race in 31.24 seconds.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Andrea Elianna Berrino<\/strong> capped the women\u2019s backstroke treble by handling the 200 back. Her winning time of 2:14.14 was more than a second clear of the field, though three seconds outside the A standard. <strong>Alexia Tavares Assuncao<\/strong> touched second in
