NAVY continues to dominate the 2014 Patriot League Championships at Lejeune Hall, but the Mids yielded the top of the podium to Bucknell in three events on Friday evening.<\/p>\n<p>Senior Mike Nicholson started the Bison gold rush by teaming with freshman teammate Louis Behnen for a 1-2 finish in the Men&#8217;s 400 IM. Sophomore Emma Levendoski gave Bucknell a second Day Three titlist when she cruised to a record-setting victory in the Women&#8217;s 100 backstroke and junior Tara Boyle put an exclamation point on the night with a win in the Women&#8217;s 1-meter Diving in the final individual event on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>The strong performance helped vault the Bison women into second place in the team standings at 431 points behind Navy&#8217;s 525. Boston University, Army and Colgate complete the top five.<\/p>\n<p>The championship session started with the first Patriot League titlist from Lehigh since 2003 when Mountain Hawks sophomore Courtney Patterson captured the Women&#8217;s 400IM in 4:16.73.<\/p>\n<p>Army freshman Ariana Bullard followed up Nicholson&#8217;s win with a new league and meet mark of 53.40 in the Women&#8217;s 100 Butterfly.<\/p>\n<p>But beyond the three Bucknell champs and one each from Army and Lehigh, the remainder of the night belonged to host Navy.<\/p>\n<p>The Mids set records in the Men&#8217;s 200 freestyle (Thomas Duvall in 1:35.32), Men&#8217;s 100 Breaststroke (Sean Murphy in 52.92), 100 backstroke (Joseph Lane in 48.01) and Men&#8217;s 400 Medley Relay (Lane, Murphy, DeBaugh, and Bomberger in 3:10.94).<\/p>\n<p>Other Navy winners included Jonathan DeBaugh in the Men&#8217;s 100 Butterfly in 47.86, Maddi Thompson in the Women&#8217;s 200 Freestyle in 1:49.59, Hanna Gillcrist in the 100 Breaststroke in 1:02.92 and the Mids Women&#8217;s 400 Medley Relay squad of Baguley, Gillcrist, Vaughn and Thompson in 3:43.24.<\/p>\n<p>The Navy Men&#8217;s team stretched out an already sizeable lead and now have a 595.50-433 advantage over second place Boston University. Army, Bucknell and Lehigh round out the top five.<\/p>\n<p>The 2014 Patriot League Swimming &amp; Diving Championships will conclude on Saturday with the final 13 events.
