Luke Greenbank Squeaks Into 100 Back Final At British Championships"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Adam Peaty <\/strong>swam the fastest 50 breaststroke of 2022 at the <strong>British Championships<\/strong> while Olympic relay silver medallist <strong>Luke Greenbank<\/strong> squeaked into the 100 back final after a rigmarole that involved ineligibility and a swim-off that never happened.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/results.swimming.org\/swimming\/results\/2022\/bschamps\/\">Results<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/adam-peaty-goes-59-55-in-100-breaststroke-prelims-in-second-meet-since-tokyo-gold\/\">Day 1 heats wrap<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/adam-peaty-goes-58-58-to-win-100-breaststroke-at-british-championships-with-paris-in-his-sights\/\">Day 1 finals wrap<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/tokyo-was-the-start-of-the-journey-for-tom-dean-as-he-lines-up-with-peaty-co-at-british-championships\/\">Tokyo Was \u2018The Start Of The Journey\u2019 For Tom Dean<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Peaty recorded the world&#8217;s fastest time of 27.10 at the meet at Ponds Forge, Sheffield, which doubles as trials for the <strong>World Championship<\/strong>s in Budapest.<\/p>\n<p>However, Greenbank &#8211; who swam the men&#8217;s medley relay lead-off in Tokyo &#8211; initially finished joint ninth in the 100 back alongside <strong>Craig McNally<\/strong> in 55.37 and to all intents and purposes it appeared they would be in the B final.<\/p>\n<p>However, British Swimming later informed Swimming World that\u00a0<strong>Sebastian Somerset<\/strong> &#8211; who qualified in fifth &#8211; is ineligible for the final as his application to switch representation from Canada to Britain has not yet been ratified by FINA.<\/p>\n<p>That meant that Greenbank and McNally would swim off for the eighth spot in Wednesday evening&#8217;s final.<\/p>\n<p>However, the swim-off never happened with the pair deciding between them Greenbank would go into the A final and McNally the B.<\/p>\n<p>However, it also raises the question of what &#8211;
