Louisville holds the top seed in the 200 medley relay and will be in Lane 4 in the fourth and final timed final heat of the event. The Cardinals will be flanked by Florida and Ohio State in the final heat. Texas will also be in the final heat, while Cal will be in the third heat.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/results\/2022-ncaa-mens-championships-day-1-heat-sheets-day-1\/ncaa-college\/2022\/March\/23?rtn=%2Fresults%2F\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Day 1 heat sheets<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2022 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/ncaa-mens-championships-texas-vs-cal-part-11-a-look-at-top-matchups\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Five NCAA storylines to watch<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The second event is the 800 freestyle relay. Arizona State holds the top seed and will be in Lane 4 in the fourth and final timed final heat of the event. The Sun Devils will be flanked by NC State and Florida. Cal and Texas will both be in that final heat as well.<\/p>\n<p>Texas and Cal have been 1-2 in some order at the men\u2019s championships every year since 2014 and every year except one since 2010. The outlier was in 2013, when Michigan won the NCAA title, and Cal finished second and Texas third.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/the-transition-from-high-school-to-college-swimming-the-big-jump\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Reese announced his retirement two days after Texas won last year\u2019s meet by just 27 points<\/a>, but three months later, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/texas-confirms-eddie-reese-will-remain-head-coach-reese-theres-more-that-i-want-to-do\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Reese decided to return as head coach in pursuit of a 16th national title<\/a>. The 15 titles that Texas has won are the most by any school (Michigan is second with 12), while Reese\u2019s 15 wins are four more than the second-highest total (<strong>Mike Peppe<\/strong> with 11).<\/p>\n<p>Outside of the team race, there is plenty to watch in individual racing.
