Last year, I was filled with injury and disappointment. I was sad all the time and I wasn&#8217;t enjoying the sport,&#8221; Gilliland said. &#8220;This year, I put everything into a new perspective and my teammates really helped. I came into college with a foot injury and it just never went away. I was trying to be the best I could but I wasn&#8217;t happy. Everything built up.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The finals were much different, and a welcome change.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I was much happier and in a better mental space today. My teammates gave me the edge with their support.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>She was the third different diver to win one of the three NCAA diving events.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We have all grown up together basically. It is a very tight community and that is what makes us so good, which is why we can push each other,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n<p>Arizona junior <strong>Delaney Schnell<\/strong> also had a strong finals and finished second with 345.10 points.<\/p>\n<p>Texas junior <strong>Jordan Skilken<\/strong> led a 3-4-8 finish for the Longhorns, which was a huge point swing as they attempted to hunt down Stanford for second place, leaving it all up to the final relay.<\/p>\n<p>Skilken had 315.45 points, the last diver in the field to reach 300 points in the finals.
