{"id":500372,"date":"2022-03-19T12:41:45","date_gmt":"2022-03-19T19:41:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=500372"},"modified":"2022-03-19T12:43:02","modified_gmt":"2022-03-19T19:43:02","slug":"2022-ncaa-womens-championships-delaney-schnell-takes-top-seed-in-platform-texas-makes-move-with-3-in-finals","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/2022-ncaa-womens-championships-delaney-schnell-takes-top-seed-in-platform-texas-makes-move-with-3-in-finals\/","title":{"rendered":"2022 NCAA Women&#8217;s Championships: Delaney Schnell Takes Top Seed in Platform; Texas Makes Move with 3 in Finals"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em><strong>2022 NCAA Women&#8217;s Championships: Delaney Schnell Takes Top Seed in Platform; Texas Makes Move with 3 in Finals<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>The 2022 NCAA Women\u2019s Division I Swimming and Diving Championships continued with the prelims of the platform diving.<\/p>\n<p>Texas put a tree in the top eight, which will provide huge points for the Longhorns, who are trying to catch Stanford for second place.<\/p>\n<p>According to the point projections, Stanford holds a 392-381 lead over Texas for second place, but that doesn\u2019t include the mile that will have <strong>Erica Sullivan<\/strong> swimming for Texas.<\/p>\n<p>Texas junior <strong>Jordan Skilken<\/strong> took the sixth seed (295.30), followed by teammates <strong>Janie Boyle<\/strong> (294.50) and <strong>Paola Pineda<\/strong> (294.20).<\/p>\n<p>A huge diving point swing has helped the Texas men\u2019s teams often in their quest for NCAA championships. The trend is continuing on the women\u2019s side.<\/p>\n<p>Arizona junior<strong> Delaney Schnell<\/strong> took the top seed with 351.50 points, narrowly ahead of Indiana sophomore <strong>Tarrin Gilliland<\/strong> with 350.20 points.<\/p>\n<p>Rutgers senior <strong>Abigail Knapton<\/strong> took the third seed with 333.25 points, followed by USC junior <strong>Nike Agundiade<\/strong> (304.25).
