NEVADA leads the team scoring through day one of the 2014 Mountain West Women\u2019s Swimming and Diving Championships at the Palo Alto Aquatic Center in San Antonio, Texas with 107 points through three events. Boise State is in second with 88 points, followed by San Diego State with 80 points. New Mexico and Wyoming are currently tied for fourth with 65 points each, followed closely by Colorado State in sixth with 64. UNLV is seventh in the standings with 60 points, followed by Air Force (58), San Jos\u00e9 State (54) and Fresno State (50).<\/p>\n<p><strong>NOTES:<\/strong><br \/>\nSan Diego State won the 200-yard medley relay with an NCAA automatically-qualifying time of 1:37.97, just .04 off the Conference record (1:37.93), which the Aztecs set last year. Boise State placed second with a 1:38.21, followed by New Mexico with a 1:38.49 and UNLV with a 1:38.81. The Broncos, Lobos and Rebels all posted NCAA \u2018B\u2019 cuts.<\/p>\n<p>In a time trial following the final event, the Conference saw another NCAA-qualifying \u2018A\u2019 cut in the 200-yard medley relay, as Boise State set an MW overall record with a time of 1:37.75. The previous mark (1:37.93) was set by San Diego State on Feb. 20, 2013.<\/p>\n<p>The Aztecs picked up their second win of the day after completing the 800-yard freestyle relay in an MW record time of 7:06.64, which was good for an NCAA \u2018A\u2019 cut. The previous record of 7:10.18, was set by UNLV on Feb. 25, 2009. Nevada took second with a \u2018B\u2019 cut time of 7:11.87, and Boise State rounded out the medal stand, placing third in 7:13.73.<\/p>\n<p>Nevada senior En-tien Huang earned the MW title in the 1-meter springboard with a final score of 309.99, giving the Wolf Pack its second straight win in the event (Stephanie Hansen, 2013). Boise State senior Ciera Cortney (299.79) and Nevada sophomore Krysta Palmer (291.42) finished second and third, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Day two events begin with the 500-yard freestyle preliminaries at 11 a.m. CT. The finals competition starts at 6:30 p.m. CT with the 200-yard freestyle relay.
