PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania, February 20. LAST year\u2019s edition of the Eastern Interscholastic Swimming and Diving Championships featured a national high school record in the women\u2019s 400-yard freestyle relay. This year\u2019s meet will showcase some of the best athletes from private schools along the Eastern seaboard racing for team and individual glory.<\/p>\n
SwimmingWorld.TV is proud to once again provide the live webcast of the two-day meet that will see Germantown Academy defend its girls\u2019 team title and Peddie School try to repeat as the boys\u2019 team champions. Will we see another national high school record this year in Kirk Natatorium on the campus of LaSalle University?<\/p>\n
The preliminary swimming sessions begin at 8 a.m. Eastern time Friday and Saturday, with the webcast set to start at 7:50 a.m. Each day\u2019s finals are set for a 5:05 p.m. start, with the webcast beginning at 4:50 p.m.<\/p>\n

We\u2019ll also bring you interviews with some of the top names from the meet.<\/p>\n Among those expected to vie for titles include Georgetown Prep\u2019s Carsten Vissering, who just broke the national independent high school record in the 100 breaststroke <\/a> two weeks ago at the D.C. Metros championship with a 53.49. Will he drop the .11 needed to break the overall national high school record of 53.39 set last year in California by Steven Stumph? Also expected to swim well in that race on Saturday will be Reece Whitley, who is tearing through national age group records in the breaststrokes for the 13-14 age group.<\/p>\n Shannon McKernan, who is not only going for a 100-200 freestyle double but is aiming to break the 26-year-old meet record of 49.76 in the 100 free, set by Grace Cornelius in 1988.<\/p>\n Another race to watch is the boys\u2019 100 butterfly, as Peddie senior Patrick Park will try to beat the meet record of 48.09 set in 1987 by future Olympic champion Mel Stewart.<\/p>\n
