Two postponed NCAAs ago, Fitch is back at the 2022 NCAA Division III Championships and just about as fast as ever, a caveat he looks primed to remove in finals.

Fitch lowered the meet record in the men’s 100 butterfly in prelims Thursday morning at the IU Natatorium. His time of 46.88 seconds is shy of the NCAA record he set last November (46.46). But it’s quicker than the time he used to win the 2019 meet (46.92).
