There will be eight heats of the 500 freestyle to start Thursday\u2019s prelims session.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022<a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/results\/2022-ncaa-womens-championships-day-2-heat-sheets-day-2\/ncaa-college\/2022\/March\/17?rtn=%2Fresults%2F\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> Day 2 prelims heat sheets<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The NCAA top seed is Penn\u2019s <strong>Lia Thomas<\/strong>, who will be in Lane 4 in the final race of the event. Her seed time is 4:34.06. Next to her will be Stanford\u2019s<strong> Brooke Forde<\/strong>. Arizona State\u2019s <strong>Emma Nordin<\/strong> has Lane 4 in the seventh heat and will be next to Virginia\u2019s<strong> Emma Weyant<\/strong>. Texas has <strong>Erica<\/strong> <strong>Sullivan<\/strong> and <strong>Evie Pfeifer<\/strong> in that seventh heat.<\/p>\n<p>The NCAA 200 IM is next with 10 heats. Defending champion <strong>Alex Walsh<\/strong> has the top seed at 1:52.38 and will go head-to-head with Cal\u2019s <strong>Isabel Ivey<\/strong> in the final heat. Stanford freshman<strong> Torri Huske<\/strong> has the second seed and will be in Lane 4 of the ninth heat. All three are off to strong starts at the NCAA Championships with strong relay splits on Day 1.<\/p>\n<p>The final individual NCAA swimming event of the morning is the 50 freestyle. The event will have nine heats and the last three are loaded with top sprinters.<\/p>\n<p>The overall top seed is Virginia junior <strong>Kate Douglass<\/strong> (21.00) and will be in Lane 4 of the ninth heat.
