A lot of records went down last weekend across the United States, and it was not easy to say which of them stood out among the rest. But in the end, we had to give it to the boys from the Baylor School, who took down a very tough 200 medley relay record on Friday evening at the Tennessee state high school championships.<\/p>\n<p>In November 2012, the Bolles School posted a 1:28.02 in the relay, a time many thought would not be beaten for many years. But it only took 15 months for a team to break that record.<\/p>\n<p>Luke Kaliszak started things off with a 21.81 backstroke leg to put the team 72 hundredths of a second behind Ryan Murphy\u2019s 21.01 split for Bolles. After Dustin Tynes\u2019s 24.83 breaststroke split, which was six tenths faster than Joe Schooling swam for Bolles, Baylor was just seven tenths behind Bolles. An incredible 21.02 butterfly leg from Sam McHugh put Baylor in front of the record by 72 hundredths this time, which gave freestyler Christian Selby a little bit of cushion to hold off the 19.64 freestyle split that Santo Condorelli swam for Bolles. Selby split a 20.08 to finish out the relay and put up the fastest medley relay ever posted by a high school team, during the high school season, we might add.<\/p>\n<p>And if you\u2019re curious how that relay would have stacked up against college teams, it would have placed 23rd at the NCAA championships last March. But no matter, it\u2019s the fastest high school relay in history, and for that, we\u2019re happy to give Luke, Dustin, Sam and Christian the Speedo Performance of the Week.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>PHOENIX, Arizona, February 18.
