2021 British Swimming Selection Trials\" width=\"326\" height=\"233\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-470022\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Duncan Scott: Photo Courtesy: Georgie Kerr, British Swimming<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Scott won the 200IM in a meet record after coming second behind <strong>Tom Dean<\/strong> in the 200 free in a repeat of the Olympic final on the opening day.<\/p>\n<p>On Saturday, the six-time Olympic medallist held a half body-length lead after the butterfly although <strong>Brodie Williams<\/strong> reduced the deficit to 0.32 at the halfway mark.<\/p>\n<p>Scott extended his lead on the breaststroke and powered home with a 29.19 final 50 to touch in 4:15.44, taking more than three seconds off the meet mark held by <strong>Max Litchfield<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Williams was second in 4:20.59 with <strong>Jacob Greenow<\/strong> rounding out the placings in 4:23.06.<\/p>\n<p>Anderson won the 400 free on the opening night and a great turn at the halfway mark propelled her to the head of the field in the 200 free.<\/p>\n<p>The seven-time European champion was 0.19 ahead of <strong>Aimee Canny<\/strong> at 150 before powering home in 1:58.42 with Canny second (1:59.16) and <strong>Freya Colbert<\/strong> (1:59.88).<\/p>\n<p><strong>James Wilby<\/strong>, Olympic mixed medley relay gold medallist, won the 100m breaststroke as he and <strong>Greg Butler<\/strong> repeated their one-two finish from the 200 on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>Wilby reached the turn at 28.06, 0.50 ahead of Butler who attempted to eat into the deficit on the second 50.<\/p>\n<p>Wilby, the three-time world medallist, kicked again and won in 1:00.23 with fellow Loughborough swimmer Butler second in 1:00.63.<\/p>\n<p>European bronze medallist <strong>Louise Hansson<\/strong> dominated the women&#8217;s 100 fly in 57.97 ahead of <strong>Keanna MacInnes<\/strong> (59.49) and <strong>Tain Bruce<\/strong> (59.50).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Andreas Vazaios<\/strong> powered through on the final 50 to win the men&#8217;s 200 fly.<\/p>\n<p><strong>James Guy<\/strong> led at the final turn only for Vazaios, the 2019 European short-course champion, to power past him on the final 50 to win in 1:58.45.<\/p>\n<p>Guy (1:58.90) and <strong>Miguel Martinez Nonoa<\/strong> of Spain (1:59.85) rounded out the top three.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_452818\" style=\"width: 336px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-452818\" data-attachment-id=\"452818\" data-permalink=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/peaty-and-anderson-to-help-cultivate-england-team-identity-ahead-of-2022-commonwealths\/freya-anderson-london-roar-isl-by-mike-lewis-3\/\" data-orig-file=\"https:\/\/vmrw8k5h.tinifycdn.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/Freya-Anderson-London-Roar-ISL-by-Mike-Lewis-D5D_5667-scaled.jpg\" data-orig-size=\"2560,1707\" data-comments-opened=\"1\" data-image-meta=\"{&quot;aperture&quot;:&quot;4&quot;,&quot;credit&quot;:&quot;MIKE LEWIS&quot;,&quot;camera&quot;:&quot;NIKON D5&quot;,&quot;caption&quot;:&quot;Freya Anderson (photo: &lt;a href=\\&quot;http:\\\/\\\/olavistaphotography.com\\\/\\&quot; knockout races that conclude with two swimmers &#8211; edging out Joe Litchfield 26.94 to 27.00.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cassie Wild<\/strong> dominated the women&#8217;s event from which <strong>Kathleen Dawson<\/strong> withdrew, winning the final race in 31.18.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sarah Vasey<\/strong> won the 50br skins with a final round of 33.62 ahead of <strong>Kara Hanlon<\/strong> (34.22).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Angela Martinez Guillen<\/strong> won the women&#8217;s 800 free in 8:47.14 ahead of <strong>Ella Dyson<\/strong> (8:50.58) with <strong>Daniel Wiffen<\/strong> taking the men&#8217;s title in 8:00.55.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ben Proud and Duncan Scott set their second meet records in as many days and Freya Anderson won her second title at the Edinburgh International Meet.
