UT Permian Basin                    1<\/pre>\n<p>Carozza recorded a time of 1:57.07 in the women&#8217;s 200 fly, just off the 2018 record of 1:56.89 set by Queens&#8217;\u00a0<strong>Mckenzie Stevens<\/strong>. Finishing more than eight tenths behind Carozza was Lynn&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Luna Mertins<\/strong> (1:57.91), with Nova Southeastern&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Aleksandra Maslova<\/strong> third (1:58.59). <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/ncaa-division-ii-championships-west-chesters-ann-carozza-sets-100-fly-record\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Carozza previously set an NCAA DII record in the 100 fly prelims Thursday<\/a> before placing second in the event in the final.<\/p>\n<p>The men&#8217;s 200 fly saw Kunert, a senior at Queens, qualifying first by more than a second in 1:43.32. His own national record sits at 1:41.19, set back in 2019. Queens teammate <strong>Yannick Plasil<\/strong> (1:44.59) and McKendree&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Jack Lustig<\/strong> (1:44.79) went 2-3.<\/p>\n<p>Wingate&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Kate Agger<\/strong> finished first in the women&#8217;s 500 free heats in 4:51.51, just ahead of Queens teammates\u00a0<strong>Sophie Lange\u00a0<\/strong>(4:51.72) and\u00a0<strong>Monica Gumina<\/strong> (4:52.06). Nova Southeastern teammates <strong>Cassie Wright<\/strong> (53.11) and\u00a0<strong>Celina Marquez<\/strong> (53.18) paced the 100 backstroke ahead of Drury&#8217;s <strong>Laura Pareja<\/strong> (53.38), and Queens earned the top seed in the 100 breast with\u00a0<strong>Danielle Melilli<\/strong> setting the pace in 1:00.94, ahead of Indy&#8217;s <strong>Marizel Van Jaarsveld<\/strong> (1:01.33) and Nova&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Savanna Best\u00a0<\/strong>(1:01.51).<\/p>\n<p>It should be a great showdown in the men&#8217;s 500 free final between Nova&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Luca Alessandrini<\/strong> and Rollins&#8217;\u00a0<strong>Ward Lockhart<\/strong>. The two swimmers entered seeded two seconds ahead of anyone else in the field, and in prelims,\u00a0<strong>Alessandrini&#8217;s\u00a0<\/strong>top time of 4:23.81 was only three hundredths ahead of Lockhart, the 1000 free winner, who went 4:23.84. Florida Southern&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Elder Oliveira<\/strong> was third (4:24.08).<\/p>\n<p>Drury&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Mikita Tsmyh<\/strong> and Florida Tech&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Daniel Aizenberg<\/strong> tied for the top seed in the men&#8217;s 100 back in 46.64, with Florida Southern&#8217;s <strong>Brandon Dyck<\/strong> (46.70) just behind. In the men&#8217;s 100 breast, three swimmers went under 53: Indy&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Jan Zuchowicz<\/strong> (52.68), Florida Southern&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Ludo Viberti<\/strong> (52.80) and Indy&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Liki Prema<\/strong> (52.84). Indy also captured the top spot in men&#8217;s 3-meter diving with freshman\u00a0<strong>Julio Osuna Kelly<\/strong> (515.05), who finished ahead of Colorado Mesa&#8217;s <strong>Isaiah Cheeks\u00a0<\/strong>and Drury&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Charles Earl<\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>NCAA Division II Championships: Ann Carozza Threatens Another Record;
