{"id":499107,"date":"2022-03-08T09:03:27","date_gmt":"2022-03-08T16:03:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=499107"},"modified":"2022-03-08T09:03:27","modified_gmt":"2022-03-08T16:03:27","slug":"2022-ncaa-mens-swimming-championships-pre-cut-psych-sheet-released","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/2022-ncaa-mens-swimming-championships-pre-cut-psych-sheet-released\/","title":{"rendered":"2022 NCAA Men&#8217;s Swimming Championships: Pre-Cut Psych Sheet Released"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The pre-cut psych sheet has been released for the 2022 NCAA Division I Men\u2019s Swimming and Diving Championship.<\/p>\n<p>The top seeds are locked in, as well as all of the provisional qualifiers, and the cut line will be determined later this week for each event, determining who officially will be invited to the NCAA Championships.<\/p>\n<p>There are only two swimmers who have multiple top seeds in the meet. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/asus-leon-marchand-is-wielding-a-dangerous-pitchfork-ahead-of-ncaa-championships\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Arizona State\u2019s <strong>Leon Marchand<\/strong> <\/a>has the top spots in the 200 IM and 400 IM. Meanwhile, Minnesota\u2019s defending NCAA champion <strong>Max McHugh<\/strong> has the top seed in both breaststroke events.<\/p>\n<p>All five of the NCAA top seeded relays have top seeds from different schools with no team doubling up.<\/p>\n<p>Marchand is on the psych sheet in the 200 breaststroke as well as some of the third events for swimmers became clear with the release of the sheet.<strong> Carson Foster<\/strong> will swim the 200 backstroke in addition to the IM events. Florida\u2019s <strong>Kieran Smith<\/strong> will swim the 200 backstroke in addition to the 200 and 500 free at the NCAA Championships. Harvard\u2019s <strong>Dean Farris<\/strong> will swim the 50 and 100 free, but instead of the 200 free, where he holds the NCAA record, he will instead swim the 100 backstroke. Georgia\u2019s<strong> Matthew Sates<\/strong> will swim the 200 butterfly in addition to the 500 free (top seed) and 200 free.<\/p>\n<p>Indiana\u2019s <strong>Brendan Burns<\/strong> had a lot of options.
