The latest set a conference and meet record.<\/p>\n<p>The Hoosiers blasted a time of 3:00.95 in the 400 medley relay, with the squad of <strong>Brendan Burns, Joshua Matheny, Tomer Frankel and Rafael Miroslaw<\/strong>. That sets the Purdue pool record, downing the time of Michigan\u2019s <strong>Anders Nielsen<\/strong> from 2016 by four tenths. He withstood the late charge by Michigan\u2019s <strong>Jake Mitchell,<\/strong> who closed in 24.26 to go from third to second in the final 50 with a time of 4:12.88. <strong>Charlie Clark<\/strong> of Ohio State was third in 4:13.77, .08 up on Minnesota freshman <strong>Bar Soloveychik.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The top seed entering the meet, <strong>Patrick Callan<\/strong> of Michigan, settled for sixth. That is .03 under the A cut and the only sub-19 swim of the meet.<\/p>\n<p>Teammate <strong>Sem Andreis<\/strong> made it a huge event for the Buckeyes by finishing second din 19.15. He went 1-2 with teammate <strong>Quinn Henninger<\/strong> (435.95) to score big points for the Hoosiers.<\/p>\n<p>In the team category, Ohio State limited the damage with three A finalists and three B finalists, led by <strong>Jacob Fielding<\/strong> in fifth. Ohio State was second in 3:01.44, followed by Wisconsin (3:05.09) and Michigan (3:05.44). Indiana lowered its conference record from 3:01.30, set in 2018, and erased a Purdue pool record from 2017.<\/p>\n<p>Indiana\u2019s foursome took the lead in the second half of <strong>Josh Matheny\u2019s<\/strong> leg and never looked back. <strong>Hunter Armstrong <\/strong>(44.36) got out slightly quicker than <strong>Brendan Burns<\/strong> (44.43), and <strong>Hudson McDaniel<\/strong> was out as quickly as Matheny. But the Indiana freshman turned in the fastest breaststroke split in 50.76. That six tenths of a second was as all the space they\u2019d need on Ohio State.<\/p>\n<p>Both backstroke times were under the Big 10 record for the 100 backstroke, owned since 2017 by Penn State grad and Irish Olympian <strong>Shane Ryan<\/strong> (44.65).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Alex Quach<\/strong> (44.17) had the fastest fly split. <strong>Rafael Miroslaw\u2019s<\/strong> 41.21 off the end was the quickest free swim.<\/p>\n<p>Minnesota\u2019s horror show continued with another medley relay disqualification, hence the Golden Gophers sitting last in the team standings.<\/p>\n<pre><b>Event 7  Men
