In our last swim poll, we wanted to know: Have you had the corona virus?<\/p>\n<p>Since the coronavirus pandemic started in early 2020, water sports alike have felt the after-effects. After-effects of which no one could have perceived and or expected.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/meet\/2020-ncaa-division-i-womens-swimming-and-diving-championships\">College<\/a> swimming and diving teams saw <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/ncaa-division-iii-winter-championships-including-swimming-diving-canceled\/\">cancellations<\/a> for their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/how-the-ncaa-division-ii-swimming-and-diving-championships-cancellation-affected-the-parties-involved\/\">championship<\/a> seasons. DI and DII schools were able to hold championships in 2021 while DIII schools have not had a post-season championship since 2019.<\/p>\n<p>In early spring 2020, with all of the championship cancellations, many things came to mind. What about future events? Will they be impacted as well?<\/p>\n<p>Before April 2020 hit, the IOC announced that the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/breaking-its-tokyo-2021-olympic-games-says-japanese-prime-minister\/\">2020 Tokyo Games<\/a> would be moved to 2021. Though, as we all saw, COVID protocols remained in place during the rescheduled <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/tokyo-olympic-games-will-be-conducted-without-spectators\/#:~:text=The%20Tokyo%20Olympics%20will%20be,report%20from%20Inside%20The%20Games.\">2021 games<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the coronavirus approaching its two-year milestone, the effects are still present. Many athletes have been unable to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/covid-19-protocols-send-home-additional-americans-from-short-course-world-championships\/\">compete<\/a> at world events due to testing protocols. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/report-fina-world-championships-in-fukuoka-postponed-to-2023-doha-worlds-pushed-to-january-2024\/\">World Championships<\/a> have been moved for a second time but an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/fina-to-stage-extraordinary-world-championships-in-budapest-in-june-four-global-meets-in-four-years\/\">alternative<\/a> has been announced since. Also as recently as last month college teams pulled out of meets due to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/covid-19-cancels-college-competitions-this-weekend-florida-state-texas-am-and-more\/\">coronavirus concerns<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>With national <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/is-college-swimming-championship-season-in-jeopardy-as-covid-cases-rise\/\">championship season<\/a> once again rapidly approaching we&#8217;re hoping for a break in the pattern of the last two years. <a href=\"https:\/\/ramblinwreck.com\/2022-ncaa-division-i-mens-swimming-diving-championships\/\">Georgia Tech<\/a> is hosting both the men&#8217;s and women&#8217;s DI championships for 2022 in Atlanta, Ga. On their website, there is information on tickets as well as for spectator parking. <a href=\"https:\/\/ramblinwreck.evenue.net\/cgi-bin\/ncommerce3\/SEGetEventInfo?ticketCode=GS%3AIBM%3AS22%3AASM%3A&amp;linkID=gatech&amp;shopperContext=&amp;pc=&amp;caller=&amp;appCode=&amp;groupCode=SWIM&amp;cgc=&amp;dataAccId=314&amp;locale=en_US&amp;siteId=ev_gatech&amp;_ga=2.15786098.570853835.1645042778-1982753678.1644940134\">Tickets<\/a> are currently available for purchase.<\/p>\n<p>College conference championships are in full swing once again.
