It\u2019s also the sixth win in the last seven meetings between the Bay Area rivals.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/gostanford.com\/documents\/2022\/2\/12\/220212_Stanford_v_California_Results.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Results<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Smith set the tone by leading the Cardinal 200 medley relay to victory. She split 23.96 off the front, leading the quartet of <strong>Allie Raab, Emma Wheal<\/strong> and <strong>Anya Goeders<\/strong> to victory in 1:36.82.<\/p>\n<p>The three-time Olympic medalist and world-record holder dominated the 200 butterfly, winning in 1:54.41, a margin of just under 2.5 seconds over the field. She returned after the diving break for the 200 back win, another margin of two-plus seconds.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/meet\/pac-12-swimming\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Pac-12 Swimming News<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Smith\u2019s wins helped check Cal\u2019s early strength, with the eight-ranked Golden Bears winning three of the first four individual events. <strong>Torri Huske<\/strong> won the 50 free in 22.28 seconds in a 1-2 with Wheal. She returned to win the 100 fly in 51.92, with Wheal third. Huske anchored the 400 free relay to a win in 3:16.13, with Wheal leading off ahead of <strong>Taylor Ruck<\/strong> and <strong>Amy Tang.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Brooke Forde<\/strong> won the 1,000 free in 9:53.64. he was also second in the 200 breaststroke. <strong>Morgan Tankersley<\/strong> won the 500 free in 4:49.47 in a 1-2 with <strong>Lillie Nordmann.<\/strong> Nordmann did a little of everything, finishing third in the 100 back and 200 fly.<\/p>\n<p>Stanford also dominated diving, with <strong>Daria Lenz<\/strong> winning 1-meter with a score of 309.30 and <strong>Maria Papworth<\/strong> augmenting the runner-up finishing in 1-meter with a 3-meter win with 421.73 points.<\/p>\n<p>Cal started fast but couldn\u2019t sustain it. <strong>Isabel Ivey<\/strong> won the 200 free in 1:44.40, well ahead of Ruck. <strong>Isabelle Stadden<\/strong> earned a decisive victory in the 100 back in 52.42. <strong>Ema Rajic<\/strong> followed by winning the 100 breast in 1:01.78.<\/p>\n<p>But the wins dried up. Ivey returned to claim the 100 free in 48.39, a 1-2 finish with <strong>Eloise Riley.<\/strong> Stadden was second in the 200 back and <strong>Leah Polonsky<\/strong> got to the wall first in the 200 breast in 2:13.33. Rajic, who with Ivey <a href=\"https:\/\/calbears.com\/news\/2022\/2\/12\/womens-swimming-diving-ivey-wins-three-races-to-lead-bears-on-senior-day.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">was among six seniors honored on Senior Day<\/a>, was third in the longer breaststroke race.
