{"id":496518,"date":"2022-02-05T12:05:57","date_gmt":"2022-02-05T19:05:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=496518"},"modified":"2022-02-05T12:05:57","modified_gmt":"2022-02-05T19:05:57","slug":"maxime-grousset-takes-100m-freestyle-title-at-ffn-golden-tour-in-nice","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/maxime-grousset-takes-100m-freestyle-title-at-ffn-golden-tour-in-nice\/","title":{"rendered":"Maxime Grousset Takes 100m Freestyle Title At FFN Golden Tour In Nice"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Maxime Grousset<\/strong> made his second trip to the podium at the FFN Golden Tour in Nice, France, with victory in the 100m freestyle.<\/p>\n<p>The 22-year-old, fifth at last year&#8217;s European Championships in Budapest, split 23.66\/25.21 for a comfortable victory in 48.87.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Charles Rihoux<\/strong> (49.78) and <strong>Hadrian Salvan<\/strong> (49.88) were the next men home.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.liveffn.com\/cgi-bin\/resultats.php?competition=75813&amp;langue=fra&amp;go=epreuve&amp;epreuve=13\">Results<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/linnea-mack-earns-50-free-win-second-in-100-fly-at-ffn-golden-tour-nice\/\">Day One report<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Charlotte Bonnet<\/strong> dominated the women&#8217;s 200 free to win by 3.15secs.<\/p>\n<p>The 2012 Olympic relay bronze medallist was out in 27.07 to lead by 1.73secs from her nearest challenger and touched in 1:59.47, the only sub-two-minute swim in the field.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Assia Touati<\/strong> made up almost a second on <strong>Giulia Rossi-Bene<\/strong> with a final 50 of 30.80 to take second in 2:02.62.<\/p>\n<p>Rossi-Bene, born in 2006, touched third in 2:02.72.<\/p>\n<p>Two-time Olympian <strong>Erik Persson<\/strong> led from start to finish to win the 200 breaststroke.<\/p>\n<p>The Swedish record-holder, who led at the final turn before claiming bronze at the European Championships last year in Budapest, stopped the clock at 2:13.40.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Antoine Viquerat<\/strong> (2:15.12) and 2015 world champion <strong>Marco Koch<\/strong> (2:16.38) took the minor placings.<\/p>\n<p>Only 0.02 separated <strong>Kristyna Horzka<\/strong> and European silver medallist <strong>Lisa Mamie<\/strong> at the halfway point of the 200 breaststroke.<\/p>\n<p>The Swiss swimmer went ahead on the third 50 and had a lead of 0.26 at the 150 mark before a final length of 37.82 guided her home in 2:26.87 with Horzka second in 2:28.03.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dominick-Mark Torok<\/strong> came from third at the 150 to overhaul the two men in front of him and win a\u00a0 200 fly race in which 0.40secs separated the first three men home.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Matthias Marsau<\/strong> led from the start and was 0.22 ahead of<strong> Giuseppe Perfetto<\/strong> at the final turn with Torok a further 0.29 adrift.<\/p>\n<p>However, a final 50 of 30.97 propelled Torok past the pair to stop the clock at 2:00.56 ahead of Marsau (2:00.82) and Perfetto (2:00.96).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dora Molnar<\/strong>, born in 2006 and a bronze freestyle relay medallist at the 2021 European Juniors, won the 200 backstroke in 2:10.32.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bertille Coussin<\/strong> was second in 2:13.14.<\/p>\n<h3>A Successful Afternoon For The Ndoye-Brouard Family<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Maty<\/strong> won the women&#8217;s 50 fly in 26.90 ahead of <strong>Linnea Mack<\/strong> (27.27) who was second in the 100 on Friday.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Yohann<\/strong> was up in the very next race as he added the 50m back title to his 100 victory in 25.03.<\/p>\n<p>The 21-year-old, who shared bronze in the 100 back with <strong>Apostolos Christou<\/strong> at last year&#8217;s <strong>European Championships<\/strong>, then dusted himself down and returned a little over half an hour later for the 200IM.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jaouad Syoud<\/strong> of Algeria was first home to complete the IM double, following Friday night&#8217;s victory, holding off <strong>Jeremy Desplanches<\/strong> in 2:00.00.<\/p>\n<p>The Olympic bronze medallist touched in 2:00.09 with <strong>Enzo Tesic<\/strong> the first Frenchman home in 2:02.99, one place ahead of Ndoye Brouard.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Lara Grangeon-Villele<\/strong> won the 400IM in 4:45.56 ahead of <strong>Francesca Fresia<\/strong> who replicated her second place in the short medley in 4:46.44.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Katinka Hosszu<\/strong> did not appear having not recovered from the illness that saw her forced out of the 200IM on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>Other winners in the finals session were <strong>Adeline Furst<\/strong> in the 1500 free (16:51.50)<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Maxime Grousset made his second trip to the podium at the FFN Golden Tour in Nice, France, with victory in the 100m freestyle.
