Among the swims were seven pool records and a 17-18 national age-group record in the 1,000 freestyle for freshman <strong>Luke Hobson<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The Longhorns opened the meet with a pool record in the 200 medley relay as freshman\u00a0<strong>Anthony Grimm<\/strong>, junior\u00a0<strong>Caspar Corbeau<\/strong>, senior\u00a0<strong>Alvin Jiang<\/strong>\u00a0and senior\u00a0<strong>Cameron Auchinachie<\/strong>\u00a0combined to clock a season-best time of 1:23.00.<\/p>\n<p>Hobson followed with a pool record in the 1,000 free, touching the wall with the fastest time in the NCAA this season at 8:43.66. That time <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usaswimming.org\/times\/popular-resources\/national-age-group-records\/scy\/17-18\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">undercuts the record of<\/a> 8:45.38 set by <strong>David Johnston<\/strong> in 2020. Hobson already <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/luke-hobson-crushes-500-free-nag-record-again-breaks-410-in-race-with-brooks-fail-at-minnesota-invite\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">owns the 500 free NAG<\/a> in 4:09.72, set in December.<\/p>\n<p>Senior\u00a0<strong>Drew Kibler<\/strong>\u00a0added a third pool record, swimming 1:32.74 in the 200 free, the fifth-fastest time in the NCAA this season.<\/p>\n<p>Texas sophomore <strong>Carson Foster<\/strong> tallied a pool record in the 200 back with a time of 1:39.35, the second-fastest time in the NCAA this season, Corbeau won the 200 breaststroke with a pool record time of 1:53.87 and junior <strong>Jake Foster<\/strong> registered a 1:43.78 in the 200 IM for another top mark.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/category\/college\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">More college news<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/texassports.com\/documents\/2022\/2\/4\/SMUvsTexas.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">UT<\/a> closed out the evening with the fastest time in pool history in the 200 free relay with a time of 1:17.18 from Grimm, Corbeau, Kibler and senior\u00a0<strong>Daniel Krueger<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Texas swimming went 1-2-3 in the 1,000 free, with Hobson picking up the win, sophomore <strong>David Johnston<\/strong>\u00a0posting the second-fastest mark in the NCAA this season at 8:43.96 to place second and\u00a0Jake Foster\u00a0finishing third 8:49.85.<\/p>\n<p>The Longhorns also collected the top three spots in the 200 free, as Kibler was followed by Krueger (1:34.60) and junior <strong>Peter Larson<\/strong> (1:35.37).<\/p>\n<p>Texas swimming swept the 100 back, with Jiang picking up the win in 45.83, Auchinachie (46.95) and sophomore <strong>Chris O&#8217;Connor<\/strong>\u00a0(47.55) taking third.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Coby Carrozza<\/strong>\u00a0won a pair of races, with the sophomore placing first in the 200 fly (1:42.96) and 100 free (43.80).<\/p>\n<p>Sophomore\u00a0<strong>Noah Duperre<\/strong>\u00a0scored 401.85 points to win the 3-meter springboard and posted the top score in the 1-meter springboard with 348.08 points.<\/p>\n<p>Texas swimming senior <strong>Alex Zettle<\/strong> won the 500 free with a time of 4:21.74.
